Set up a notebook, meet the hotel bookings dataset, and read it into Python.
A notebook mixes code, results and notes in one document. It is the most comfortable place to learn Python for data, because you see the result of every line straight away.
Setup
We use a free online notebook, so there is nothing to install. If you prefer your own machine, the notes below the video walk through it.
The dataset
Two years of bookings from a small hotel chain: dates, prices, room types, cancellations. We load it with one line of pandas and take a first look.
