What AI tools are good at, and what not
Lesson 1 of 4 · 40 min · with Sofia Ricci
A clear-eyed map of today's AI tools for prototyping, and where each one breaks.
AI tools are excellent at first drafts and poor at knowing whether a draft is any good. Keeping that in mind is most of the skill.
The map
We sort the tools into four groups: text, images, interface generators and code assistants. For each, we look at one task it does well and one it gets wrong.
Our project
A habit tracker for people who have tried and abandoned three habit trackers. Small enough to build in an afternoon, real enough to test with people.
